Andrew's space17 marzo Retarded China Products....So the roomie and I headed down to our local supermarket the other day to restock our place.. My roommate sees these cookies and without hesitation throws them into the cart. A day or two passes and we decide to break open the cookies. The picture on the outside looked pretty good but then we noticed the text on it...
" ULTIMATE ENJOY, STATUS CAN NOT EQUA "
" So much taste there"s nobody can refuse "
" VERITABLE MATERIAL " (wtf does that mean?)
" Give you the authentic exotic flavour... THE SPECIAL FLAVOR "
" NOURISHMENT ABUMDANCE " (notice the last to letters in 'nourishment', the N and the T is one letter)
So, with all the messed up english on the box it didnt really matter. Afterall, I am in China. But when I opened the box thats when it shocked me the most. THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ON BOX!!!! At first I thought the cookies were upside down but they weren't. We all know what these cookies are supposed to look like but apparently the company that makes these thought they could pull it off....
The Taste test....
They all taste the same.. The round ones, the oval ones... the ones with the stuff on top... the chocolate chip ones werent even there!
Anyways, check out the pictures along with the blog.. I just had to share with everyone the half assed stuff you can buy in China... 26 settembre My Journey to TaiShan!Spontanious trips are always fun. It doesnt give you much time to think about the trip. Thats what I think makes it interesting... If you spend too much time thinking about the what ifs, you eventually drop out of the trip. In this case however, by the time our decisions changed, we were already heading home..
Our destination was TaiShan, located in the ChengDu province of China. I've cut and pasted some information about the Mountain below:
" The leader of the 'Five Sacred Mountains', Mt. Tai is located in the center of Shandong Province, lying across the cities of Tai'an, Jinan and Zibo. Its main peak, Jade Emperor Summit, which is within Tai'an City, is about 1545 meters (5070 feet) high.
In ancient times, the first thing for an emperor to do on ascending to the throne was to climb Mount Taishan and pray to heaven and earth or their ancestors. It was said that 72 emperors of different dynasties made pilgrimages to this mountain. These special ceremonies and sacrifices earned the mountain widespread fame. In addition, many poets and literary scholars also visited the mountain to gain inspiration. The grandiose temples, the numerous stone inscriptions and stone tablets are the best testaments to these visits. Mt. Tai also played an important role in the development of Buddhism and Taoism."
Anyways, Our goal of the trip was to hike to the top where we would see the sunset, wake up for the sunrise, then hike back down afterwards. Unfortunately thats not how our trip went. We never made it to the top, and never got to see the sunrise/sunset yet, I still had a blast. Even though our goal was not reached, it was the journey that was well worth the trip.
I'll let the pictures in my Album speak for the rest of my blog... |
